Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an Episcopal Book?
Yes. Actually it has it's roots in the Church of England. It was created to contain the forms of service for daily and Sunday worship within a single volume; it includes morning and evening prayers, the Litany, and Holy Communion. The book includes other occasional services in full: the orders for baptism, confirmation, marriage, 'prayers to be said with the sick' and a funeral service.
We believe that this book is a valuable resource and can be used IN ADDITION to that which the LORD has already laid on your heart for a particular ministry assisgnment or responsibility.

Do I have to use this book if I have IFCM Ministry Credentials?
No. It is simply a suggested resource. As an instructive ministry guide, it contains useful material on baptisms, weddings, dedications and funerals. Like many other denominational and non-denominational groups, you might wish to 'borrow" from the Book of Common Prayer when performing specific ceremonies.

We hope that the the depth and richness of the language, prayers as well as the daily hymns and pslams will encourage and strengthen your life and faith.

Why did IFCM choose this Book?
For a couple of reasons actually. Our ministry is given to the entire Body of Christ and as such we draw resources from all corners of the Body of Christ that are scripturally sound and relevant.

The 1928 Book of Common Prayer is considered a classic in Christian Literature, used in over 50 countries and printed in 150 languages, it's primary content is based solidly on scripture. It also provides a invaluable link to our historical Christian heritage as many of the contributors were strong men of the faith such as Martin Luther and Myles Coverdale, a 16th-century Bible translator who produced the first complete printed translation of the Bible into English.
