Recasting the Net in 2008

On two occasions Jesus told His disciples to cast their nets for a great catch. The first time was at the beginning of His ministry. As a result of their obedience the disciples brought in such a great catch that their nets broke.

In John 21:6 Jesus said, "Cast your net on the right side of the ship and you shall find." These men had been fishing all night and had not caught any fish. But they heard the Word of the Lord and were obedient to what He said. When they cast their nets on the right side, scripture says the catch was enormous. In fact they caught 153 great fish. And even though there was so many fish, their nets did not break. At the time Jesus spoke these words, His disciples were tired and discouraged. Yet in hearing Jesus, their faith began to rise, hope was restored and the miracle happened.

I believe many Christians have tried and tried to make a difference for God and are tired and discouraged. But you know, I believe that we are in the midst of what is potentially the biggest spiritual shift in church history. Things are changing. Seasons have changed … and when a season changes, everything changes. That means that even though you may want to play in the snow all day in the spring it doesn't matter because there is no snow. The season has changed. So the things you did in the previous season you cannot do in this one. The way we thought, talked and worked does not work anymore.

A couple of weeks ago the Lord told me that in 2008 He would make visible the road to glory. In the last season the road was sometimes difficult to find. But in this hour He will make visible that which we could not previously see. I feel that God is saying, "I am taking you from learning to walk in the light, to being the light." This means that we will no longer have to find the light; it will shine from within and light the world. You might say, well I know that brother Larry. But wait until that revelation explodes in your heart! This is THE LIGHT of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we must take around the world...to all the nations.

I believe the LORD is telling us that it is time to recast our net. If you will hear His voice in this, and cast the net again on the right side, your catch will be great. The second time Jesus spoke these words to His disciples they caught 153 great fish and their nets did not break. Those great fish represent all the nations of the world and I believe that if we will work together and cast the net He has given us, there will be a catch of nations so large and our net will not break.

We are redefining our world mission program in alignment with this Word. Our "net" includes all that IFCM has ever done, including starting new churches, training pastors, establishing branch seminaries, networking existing pastors, feeding the children in Haiti and other place, etc. And now we want to add some new dimensions of ministry. We will be empowering many pastors to reach the world through technology, internet television and many new and exciting fields of opportunity. It is one thing for me to have a program that can be seen around the world on internet television. But can you imagine the impact we can have by putting hundreds of pastors and ministers of the gospel on internet television all working to build a global audience?

I believe with all my heart that God is saying to recast the net. We do not want to do it alone, we want to partner and work with you. This is not my work, it is a work of the body of Christ. A work of the Holy Spirit through His people. I am asking for your hand and your heart. Let's cast our net together. He told them to cast the net on the right side and they would find a great catch. I believe that together we will find a great catch that will ultimately bring nations to Jesus Christ. Please pray about being a part of this great work.
